A note from the Make Peace with Organizing team

Let's start with something important — something we’d like to share with you before we ever set foot in your home:

We are not here to judge you.

We know what it feels like to invite someone into your space. We know the vulnerability that comes with opening the door and saying, "This is my stuff. This is my life. This is what I've been carrying." That takes courage. Real courage.

Whether your home is overflowing with decades of memories, a little chaotic from the busyness of life, or somewhere in between — you deserve support that feels safe, warm, and completely free of judgment. That's exactly what we're here to give you.

At Make Peace with Organizing, compassion isn't just a word we put on our website. It's the foundation of everything we do — from the very first conversation to the last box we unpack. Here's how that looks at every step of the process.

Step 1: Connect — We Listen First

Before we ever touch a single item in your home, we listen. We want to understand your goals, your challenges, and what's been holding you back. We want to hear your story.

There is no right or wrong answer here. There is no "normal" amount of stuff to have. There is no timeline you should have met by now. Whatever you share with us — we receive it with kindness and without judgment.

This first conversation is also where we want you to know: you are in complete control. We are here to guide, support, and work alongside you. We are never here to make decisions for you or to rush you through a process that deserves care.

Step 2: Plan — Your Space, Your Way

Once we understand your needs, we get to work on a game plan. We measure your spaces, talk through possibilities, and begin mapping out what a peaceful, functional home could look like for you.

This is where we want to say something gently but clearly: we've seen it all. Truly. And nothing we encounter in your home changes how we feel about you as a person. Clutter doesn't define your character. A messy drawer doesn't tell us who you are. What we see when we walk into your space is potential — and a person who is ready (even if nervously!) to reclaim it.

The plan we create together is just that — together. We're not going to show up with a rigid blueprint and bulldoze through your belongings. Every decision is made collaboratively, with your comfort and your vision at the center.

Step 3: Declutter — At Your Pace, On Your Terms

This is often the step people feel most anxious about. And honestly? We get it. Going through your belongings can bring up a lot. Memories, emotions, grief, guilt, nostalgia — sometimes all at once.

We want you to know that we've sat beside people sorting through a loved one's belongings with tears streaming down their faces. We've worked with families navigating decades of accumulation in a home they're preparing to sell. We've helped people who were embarrassed about their spaces finally exhale.

Not once have we judged them. Not once will we judge you.

The decluttering process moves at your pace. We will never pressure you to part with something you're not ready to release. We will never make you feel silly for holding onto something that matters to you. Our job is to help you get clear — not to tell you what your things are worth.

And when you're ready to donate? We take care of that too — bringing your items directly to local charities that serve your community. That's one less thing on your plate, and one more way your belongings get to do some good in the world.

Step 4: Implement — Organizing That Actually Brings You Peace

Here's where the magic happens. Once we've worked through the decluttering together, we get to create the systems that will make your daily life feel lighter.

We don't believe in one-size-fits-all organizing. We believe in organizing that fits your life — your habits, your routines, your family. So we design solutions that make sense for the real, actual human beings who live in your home.

Whether we shop for organizing tools on your behalf or provide a curated list for you to choose from, everything is intentional. Nothing is imposed. And the finished product? It's yours — something you had a hand in creating and something that's designed to serve you well long after we leave.

Step 5: Maintain — Because Life Happens

Life is beautiful and messy and unpredictable. We know that. And we know that staying organized isn't always easy, especially when you're juggling work, family, health, and everything in-between.

That's why we offer our Maintenance Plan — an ongoing partnership to help you maintain your organizing systems and make adjustments as your life evolves. Whether you want us checking in weekly, monthly, quarterly, we're here. No guilt trips. No "you should have done better." Just steady, caring support to help you keep the peace you've worked so hard to create.

For all of our clients, this continued presence often grows into something even more meaningful. Our team shows up with warmth and consistency, building relationships that go beyond organizing. Because a well-organized space isn't just aesthetically pleasing — it's a safer, more confident space to live in.

A Final Note: You Don't Have to Be Ready to Be Welcome Here

You don't have to have it all figured out. You don't have to clean before we come (really — we mean it). You don't have to feel embarrassed about where things are right now.

You just have to be willing to take one step. And we'll walk the rest of it with you.

Make Peace with Organizing was built on the belief that everyone deserves a space that feels calm, functional, and like home. We show up for every single client — regardless of the size of the project, the complexity of the situation, or the state of the space — with the same unwavering commitment:

Compassion first. Always.

We would be honored to walk this journey with you. When you're ready — or even if you're just curious — reach out for a complimentary consultation. There's no pressure, no judgment, and no better first step toward the peace you deserve.
